International Slovenian Ladies Amateur Champion🏆🇸🇮

Instead of going with my school mates to sport camp in Croatia, I decided to play the International Slovenian Ladies Amateur Championship in GC Moravske Toplice near the Austrian border. With just one day at home from my Ireland trip, I had to quickly adapt to a total different golf game. From Links Golf with hard fairways, fast greens in harsh conditions and cold temperature on sea level to a Parkland course in perfect weather, wet fairways, with soft and slow greens. With only one practice round and still pretty tired from last week, I started solid with 72 (Par) into the tournament. Playing 3 Birdies and 3 Bogeys and having a lot of additional chances but I had my difficulties with the slow and soft greens and the putter stayed pretty cold. The second day, I played 70 (-2), 5 Birdies and 3 Bogeys which meant I was tied for the lead and would play in the last flight for the 36 holes on the final day. With scores of 73 and 72 and a total score of 287 strokes (1 under Par), I was able to hold the lead and win the tournament, which makes me very proud to collect another international title. The coming week will be busy in school focusing on some exams before I get ready for the German Girls and I have a few things in my game I want to fine-tune.

Solid Links Golf in Ireland placing 16that the Irish Ladies⛳️🇮🇪

The Irish Ladies Open Amateur Championship is a special tournament since I have won it in 2015 in Dun Laoghaire, a beautiful Parkland course south of Dublin and the host course of the Curtis Cup in 2016. In recent years, it has been played on links courses, which makes it even more challenging for me to compete against the top players of GB & I.

The County Louth Golf Club, 30 minutes north of Dublin is a very fine test in Links golf. Unfortunately, the first day of the tournament was played in actually what most of the people would call unplayable conditions with winds around 65km/h, heavy rain, sometimes hale, balls rolling off the green and moving while addressing the ball at putting. No complaints helped and the first day counted and it was really a pity since the weather got nice at mid afternoon. Nevertheless, I even played good in these conditions, just the putting was not predictable because of the wind and I scored +17. On the next day, the conditions were normal with around 25km/h wind and I scored with 4 under Par the second best score of the day. Especially my ball shaping, on which I was focusing the last weeks worked very well and my putter was really hot, too. The final day, in similar conditions, I played again very solid, laying 3 under Par after the 14thhole. Unfortunately, I made some mistakes the final holes, which can be brutal in Links Golf and therefore finished +2 for the round and placed 16thin the tournament.
