Ping Europe Fitting Center ⛳️

The day after my third place at the English Women’s Stroke Play Championship, I visited the Ping Europe Fitting Center in Gainsborough.  I had a fitting with Geoff Waddington and also got to take a look inside the Ping Factory!  I really appreciate getting sponsored by Ping with my equipment the past few years and I can’t wait to get my new Ping clubs. Thanks for the great support from Oliver here in Austria and Geoff in England.

3rd place at the English Women’s Amateur Stroke Play Championship

This year’s English Women’s Stroke Play Championship was held at Woodhall Spa Golf Club, the Home of England Golf. We played the Hotchkin course, one of the best Inland courses in England. It has a lot of heather next to the fairway but also many trees and 365 bunkers – many of which are very deep up to 6 meters.  To be able to stay out of trouble and bunkers you really had to have a good strategic game plan, where you are able to place the ball on the fairway. The first round I played level par, which was a very good start into the tournament. The second round I played the best score of the day with 4 under.  I was 5 under after 17 but unfortunately on 18 I hit my drive into a fairway bunker and had a really bad stance, so I played a bogey.  Overall I was really happy with that round because I was often close to the pin and played many birdies but a few times I had some really long putts, which I two-putted.  After 36 holes Annabell Fuller and I were leading at 4 under. It felt really awesome being in contention again.

On the last day 36 holes were played. I played round three and four in the last flight with a lot of spectators following. After shooting +2 in round three, I was 1 stroke off the lead going into the final round in the afternoon. During my fourth round I was leading until the 14th hole but unfortunately played one more bogey on 15 and finished with pars. I had good birdie chances on 16, 17 and 18 but unfortunately they didn’t fall. In the end, I scored +2 again and finished the tournament at Level par and got THIRD PLACE!  I played very solid golf and I’m very proud of my result on this difficult golf course.

Girls British Amateur Championship 🇬🇧⛳️

This year’s Girls British Championship was held at Enville Golf Club, a beautiful parkland course with excellent practice facilities.  On the first day of stroke play, I had a 2:30 p.m. tee time and scored +1, after being -2 after 12 holes.  In round two of stroke play, I started off pretty well but unfortunately during the back nine I lost my rhythm and wasn’t hitting the shots as solid as before and finished +6.  With a total of +7, I made the cut of the best 64 to get into the matchplay phase. The first round of matchplay I played against Annabell Fuller. Unfortunately, I lost to her but we both played very well and halved 2 holes with birdies. I just hit a few bad shots off the tee, which costed me an extra stroke on those holes. Overall I’m very happy – I made the cut and I was able to practice at Enville to prepare for my next tournament, the English Women’s Stroke Play Championship.
